Notes: Moscato d'Asti is a sweet, lightly sparkling, low-alcohol wine from Piedmont, northwestern Italy. As implied by its name, the wine is made from Moscato grapes grown in vineyards near the town of Asti and falls under Italy's highest category of production. The grapes are deliberately picked late in order to obtain the maximum sugar levels and give, when pressed, a dense and perfumed must which, after a brief settling, begins its initial fermentation. This is soon blocked by a series of filtrations.
